When Bill found the car, it was a relatively rust-free roller out of California.  He was able to find some used front fenders and then completely stripped the body and proceeded with the fab' he was looking for.

 
From Roller to Pro Touring
Once the car had been stripped, Bill and the guys at Rt. 66 Motorsports dove into the task of turning the vehicle into a Pro Touring themed '69. To gain the added rubber needed, they began with a set of mini-tubs. A pair of inner wheelwells were dropped in the front, along with a smoothed out firewall. The stock bumper was modified, and then they created a custom, one-of-a-kind, hood with dual rear-facing air inlets.
 
Interior Work
The interior called for some custom work as well. Bill had the rear seat scrapped, fabricated recesses made for a pair of buckets, and built in a custom console which stretched the length of the interior. A custom dash replaced the stock one, which was worked in to mesh with the custom center console.The instrument cluster was ultimately completed with Auto Meter Antique gauges and adapter.

Pro Touring Power Plant
The heart of the Pro Touring themed '69 is based around a 383 built by A-Team Speed, pulling an easy 525 hp. Alloy heads, EFI, a five-speed and a Centerforce clutch all help round off the power. A Be Cool radiator keeps the engine running at optimal temps, while Painless Wiring made the 18 circuit kit, injection harness, t-stat switch and gauge loom a breeze to install. Thermo-Tec heat and sound shield were added as well to ensure comfort not only for the passengers, but for the engine components as well.

PPG paint was used to finish the car off, with Bill and his son using a two-tone scheme of burgundy and tan, finished with a mirror-like clear coat.
